Honeycomb Ham

Honeycomb Ham

YIELD: Makes 6 servings

1 1/2 each - ham nugget, sliced into quarters, halved lengthwise and halved again vertically

3 T - honey habanero seasoning

3/4 tsp. - granulated garlic

3 T - Dijon mustard

9 T - melted unsalted butter

1/3 cup - whipped clover honey

1/3 tsp. - cracked black pepper

6 T - honeycomb, 1 T per ham

1 1/2 tsp. - granulated honey

Prepare hams - score hams to create honeycomb design following the lines of the imprints on the ham. Score 1/8th inch indentations into each ham. Place on a sheet pan lined with foil and topped with a rack.

Prepare seasoning - mix together Honey Habanero seasoning, granulated garlic, mustard, melted butter, honey, and pepper until smooth. Liberally brush each ham with seasoning and place on a prepared baking sheet.

Bake for 45 minutes at 350°F until golden and caramelized, basting every 10-15 minutes.

Remove hams from oven and sprinkle with granulated honey and divide honeycomb amongst hams, spooning 4-5 dollops onto each ham (about 1 T per ham).
